Did you know the origin of Chinese New Year is about a monster called Nian? Ever wondered how the twelve Chinese zodiac animals had their order?
This Chinese New Year weekend, February 20th and 21st, 6-8pm, bring your family to MXM ArtCenter - as Chinese perfomer Jintong Yu immerses you into the world of these ancient tales and takes you to travel through China’s rich artistic history— from ancient songs and poems of 900 AD, to the glamorous nightlife of 1940s Shanghai, sweeping powerful Mongolian dance, jazz-pop of the 1980s, and many more.
After a series of spectacular performances, you’re also invited to get hands-on by creating traditional red paper-cut window decorations and festive lanterns.
Come enjoy, listen, learn, and celebrate the Year of Horse together.
Sabia que a origem do Ano Novo Chinês está ligada a um monstro chamado Nian? Já alguma vez se perguntou como os doze animais do zodíaco chinês ganharam a ordem que têm hoje?
Neste fim de semana do Ano Novo Chinês, 20 e 21 de fevereiro, das 18h às 20h, traga a sua família ao MXM ArtCenter - onde a artista chinesa Jintong Yu o irá mergulhar no mundo destas lendas antigas e levá-lo numa viagem pela rica história artística da China — desde canções e poemas antigos do ano 900, passando pela vida noturna glamorosa de Xangai nos anos 1940, pelas danças mongóis poderosas e envolventes, até ao jazz-pop dos anos 1980, e muito mais.
Após uma série de atuações espetaculares, será também convidado a participar em atividades práticas, criando tradicionais recortes de papel vermelho para janelas e lanternas festivas.
Venha desfrutar, ouvir, aprender e celebrar juntos o Ano do Cavalo.
