The Chakaruna World Bridging Tour draws its inspiration from the ancient Quechua concept of "Chakaruna," meaning World Bridger. "Chaka" represents the Bridge, while "Runa" symbolizes the People, together reflecting the sacred duty of forging connections between the tangible and the intangible, the Earth and the Spirit, the individual and the collective. Through this tour, Poranguí invites us to step into our own roles as Chakarunas, intricately weaving our spirits into the vibrant tapestry of life and synchronizing with the pulsating heartbeat of the Earth.

The evening opens with an interactive opportunity for the audience to open their voice and sing together, activating the space as a coherent container.

CONCERT 
Sonic Alchemy: Experience the ancient healing art of sound and vibrational therapy with an intimate two-hour sound healing journey with Poranguí. Poranguí masterfully weaves ancestral songs & indigenous rhythms from around the world as a one-man orchestra and will sonically guide us through a meditative sound soak. His partner, Ashley Klein, will sprinkle the musical set with some vocal guidance, visualizations, and meditations inviting our prayers and intentions into our dance.

ABOUT PORANGUÍ:

Reared among the three cultures of Brazil, Mexico and the U.S., Poranguí was steeped in various traditional forms of music, healing and ceremony since birth. Drawing from his cross-cultural background and ethnomusicology training at Duke University, Poranguí has over twenty-five years of international work experience as an artist, musician, healer, and educator, utilizing the healing properties of sound and movement to foster our individual and collective well being.

As a live looping artist and one-man orchestra Poranguí weaves ancestral songs and indigenous rhythms from around the globe. Creating his performances from scratch using looping technology, Poranguí’s live grooves range from meditative to dance, moving the body, lifting the spirit, and transcending the divide between performer and audience. His World Soul concerts have taken him around the globe and led him to collaborate with many artists, including a current album series titled Kuya Sessions with Liquid Bloom.
